Welcome to the International School of Yangon!
ISY is now entering its 56^th year of operation and has a long history of academic excellence. We are an American Embassy affiliated school. Our curriculum is based on the American model of education. We are proud to share that The International School of Yangon is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)  and has earned full International Baccalaureate diploma authorization. We have a highly challenging school curriculum and our overall standardized test scores are among the highest in the world.  Our high school graduates attend and thrive in some of the most competitive universities worldwide.  

ISY is not only an academically challenging institution; we also strive for our students to become well rounded and caring adult citizens. Community service is a very important component of our school mission. It is part of our school culture for our students to be involved in projects which help the less fortunate in this country.  It is a common belief in our community that ISY students are very motivated and respectful individuals. Even experienced overseas teachers find our students some of the hardest working students they have taught in their careers.  

Our teachers are top notch teachers who are recruited in the USA but also from many other countries in order to promote a diversity of ideas and teaching styles. We recruit teachers who have a passion for helping students learn and who also are passionate about helping improve people’s lives.
