People Together Action!

The PTA at the International School of Yangon is comprised of a very dynamic and energetic group of individuals committed to the excellence of our school. The executive committee is comprised of a president, vice-president, treasurer, secretary, faculty representative, cultural liaison, and an events coordinator.

Meeting the first Wednesday of every month, the general meetings welcome all parents, students, and school community members who wish to contribute to the worthy causes of the PTA.

In the recent years the role of the PTA has expanded to include the following events:

• Welcome Back Tea each August
• International Day in November
• Kick-off Cookout Picnic in January
• Teacher Appreciation festivities
• Annual Dinner / Auction Fundraiser

The executive committee allocates funds to various groups and for various reasons on the ISY campus. Most recently a digital piano was purchased for the music department. There is sponsorship of a Visiting Author visitation each year, as well as support for the ISY athletic teams. Ever evolving but always dynamic, the PTA of ISY is not only a Fundraising Group but also a “Fun” raising group of dedicated people.
